Discover a Norfolk coastal paradise

North Norfolk

Designated as an Area of Outstanding Beauty, and quite rightly so, North Norfolk is a feast for the senses. A patchwork of beautiful beaches, colourful creeks and salt marshes, pastel fronted beach huts, bustling harbours and picture perfect coastal villages. Quintessential for nature lovers and history enthusiasts or anyone dreaming of a peaceful escape by the sea.

Local Features

This glorious coastal stretch is steeped in rich history, shaped by its agricultural heritage, historical connections and coastal environment. Visit all year round – walk, jog, cycle, horse-ride, paddle board or amble your adventure along the coastal path encountering the diverse wildlife and magnificent beaches. You’re spoilt for choice – sweeping golden sands and shingle shores, perfect for windswept walks, toe dipping in the shallows and sunset suppers amongst the dunes. There are plentiful brick and flint and Georgian market towns, villages packed with great coffee shops, pretty boutiques, bustling cafes and quaint pubs dishing up delicious local produce and a bottle of something local.

North Norfolk Musts

Gillying (crabbing) on the Quay at Wells-Next-The-Sea followed by a tasty fish & chip supper watching the world go by.

A trip to Holkham Beach, you may recognise it from the final scenes in the 1998 Oscar winning film ‘Shakespear in Love’ with Gwyneth Paltrow.

North Norfolk is famous for its food, most notably Cromer crab, Brancaster mussels, samphire, Binham blue cheese, Norfolk saffron and lavender. You’ll find the local restaurants and foodie spots packed with delicious examples for you try or take home a slice of North Norfolk.
