Meet Property Manager Lorna Kirby at Simply Norfolk Stays

Meet Our Property Manager at Simply Norfolk Stays

We’re thrilled to introduce Lorna Kirby, Property Manager at Simply Norfolk Stays. We had a quick chat with Lorna to get to know her, hear about her role, and find out why homeowners love working with Simply Norfolk Stays.

Hi Lorna, Tell us a bit about yourself

Having started my career in the music business and moving on to HR software, I have always been client facing and I am passionate about the highest standards of customer service and customer experience. Having moved to the stunning North Norfolk Coast after lockdown, I wanted to change my direction a little and after meeting Emma Mason (Tagg) – the founder of the award winning Barefoot Retreats, a brand I totally admire because of the high standards of quality and service they offer – I was delighted to accept the appointment to head up and launch Simply Norfolk Stays.  Emma felt there was a gap in the market and therefore set up Simply Norfolk Stays to fill that gap.

What made you want to join Simply Norfolk Stays?

What really drew me in was how professional, yet supportive and personal Simply Norfolk Stays feels. They combine expert marketing and local knowledge from years of experience with their sister company award winning Barefoot Retreats with a genuine understanding of homeowners’ needs. It’s great that homeowners can still have control of their cleaning and maintenance, while benefiting from Simply Norfolk’s guidance and care – it really feels like the best of both worlds.

What do you do as a Property Manager?

I’m here to make life easier for our homeowners. That means helping them get their property listed, giving tips on marketing and pricing, referring trustworthy and reliable trades and local services, and making sure their home always looks amazing online. In essence, I make sure the promotion of their property runs smoothly so owners don’t have to stress and can concentrate on their holiday home.

How does Simply Norfolk Stays help properties stand out?

We focus on showing off what makes each home special.  From the details within in the home to all the amazing small businesses on its doorstep – restaurants, pubs, boutiques, cafes, visitor attractions and the landscape. Great photos and videography, detailed listings, engaging social media and smart marketing – we make sure guests can see exactly why a property is perfect for their stay, whether it’s a cosy cottage or a big family home we’ll highlight it’s USPs.

What’s your favourite part of Norfolk?

Oh, that’s tough! The coastline is stunning,  I particularly like the North West Norfolk Coast. The stunning beach at Holkham is very special, every guest I take there always gasps “wow” – I even had a comment that the sea was warmer here than in Portugal!

Which Norfolk local secret do you think more visitors should know about?

There is an abundance of high-quality restaurants and wonderful local produce including seafood, crab and Brancaster mussels – which are a local speciality. There are some amazing golf courses 2 of which are in the top 20 ranking in England and in the top 100 in the world. There are plenty of individual boutiques and gift shops and also lots of local events to enjoy.

What’s the most unexpected or charming thing you’ve discovered while living in Norfolk?

The people are very friendly, and a lot of the properties are absolutely stunning. Norfolk is one of the driest counties in the UK, however, the quality of the air and the local produce available is amazing.  There are lots of local markets and events throughout the year, so always something to do.

Any advice for someone thinking about joining the portfolio?

Just go for it! Working with Simply Norfolk Stays gives you personal and professional support, expert local knowledge, and a friendly team that’s always there to help while still letting you have your say in how your property is looked after.
